Thanks to some late changes to the schedule, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be speaking this October at the second-ever LoopConf in sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL!
The focus of my talk will be “Writing WP-CLI Commands That Work!”, which I’ve previously given at WordCamps Dayton and Columbus earlier this year. As such, slides are available on GitHub.
WordCamp Columbus will always have a special place in my heart (I became interested in speaking after attending WordCamp Columbus 2012), so I’m proud to announce that I’ll be returning to the WordCamp Columbus stage this August with two talks.
Continuing my streak of double conference talks, I’ll be giving two this August at Northeast PHP in Charlottetown, PE (Canada). Not only will this be my first time speaking at Northeast PHP, this will be my first international conference!
Word came in last night that I’ve had two talks accepted for WordCamp NEO (Northeast Ohio, formerly North Canton): Accelerating the Mobile Web with AMP and Professional Development for Professional Developers.
This May, I’ll be presenting two brand new talks at php[tek] in St. Louis. This will be my first time speaking at php[tek], so I’m extremely excited to get to present two brand new talks: Professional Development, Professional Developers and Building for the PHP Command Line Interface!
Ahead of officially premiering “Building for the PHP Command Line Interface” at php[tek] 2016, I’ll be doing a trial run at the local Columbus PHP meetup group this month..
WP-CLI is a great tool when you don’t need a fancy UI, need to write scripts to perform regular maintenance, or to provide deeper functionality to your awesome plugin. Like WordPress, it’s free, open source, and far more powerful than some people give it credit for.
This session covers the components necessary to write great WP-CLI scripts; from structure to execution, arguments to output, attendees should leave the session with everything they need to know to implement WP-CLI commands in their next project.
The internet is an amazing tool for sharing information with users all over the world, but what happens when “online” isn’t a guarantee? This was the question posed after 10up built an web-based product catalog for one of the world’s leading water technology providers. With a sales team of hundreds, how could we be sure that the sales materials were always available to the sales team, regardless of internet connectivity?
This session is a case-study on taking a web application offline, synchronizing JSON data and assets while maintaining a consistent user experience. Attendees will gain insight on the unique challenges of taking an app offline, as well as the technologies available and strategies for keeping data intact and the user experience seamless.
