Speaking at php[world] 2018

php[world], held annually in the greater D.C. metro area, has long been one of my favorite conferences. It was my first non-WordCamp conference speaking engagement, and I’ve been lucky enough to speak at or attend all but one php[world] since it started in 2014.

This year, I’m fortunate to count myself among the speakers, giving two talks this November!

Review: Building Exceptional Sites with WordPress & Thesis

While I was in St. Louis for php[tek], php[architect] announced the release of their latest book, Building Exceptional Sites with WordPress and Thesis by Peter MacIntyre. php[architect]’s Editor-in-Chief, Oscar Merida, asked if I’d be willing to read through the new book and offer my thoughts, and I quickly accepted; not only have I been looking forward to meeting Peter in-person (he’s one of the organizers of Northeast PHP, where I’ll be speaking in early August), but the book’s forward was written by my close friend and mentor, Eric Mann.

Two New Talks @ php[tek] 2016

This May, I’ll be presenting two brand new talks at php[tek] in St. Louis. This will be my first time speaking at php[tek], so I’m extremely excited to get to present two brand new talks: Professional Development, Professional Developers and Building for the PHP Command Line Interface!
