BG Reel Productions
www.bgreel.orgBG Reel Productions is a student organization for filmmakers at Bowling Green State University. As Vice President, a founding member, and a web developer, I was in charge of creating a website for the organization capable of displaying student work, recruiting new members, and retaining existing members by connecting them to other student filmmakers.
The website features student films (hosted on YouTube for space, bandwidth, and embedding purposes), a member directory, and a forum (powered by phpBB for members to discuss film, collaborate on projects, and keep track of meeting minutes and other documents. Site content is managed through a custom content management system.
The site design and front-end was created by Matthew Haynes, a friend and former colleague from Sea Lion Studio. His guidance on the project was invaluable, as this was my first non-Sea Lion site.
